New member saying hello.

Hi,

I've just joined the forum as I've got a new (used) camera and don't really know what it can do so I'll be looking for tips and advice.
I've always used bridge cameras so decided it would be a good idea to get a DSLR so bought a Nikon D3300. I've only got the 18-55 VR lens with it so first thing will be a decent budget telephoto lens, going to the Moto GP in Italy in June so hoping to get some good shots. I'll have a good read through the forum posts before I start asking daft questions!!

The camera you bought can do as much as you want it to do....if you are going to the moto gp...focus on shutter speed, aperature and figuring out how to focus on moving objects to start with. Post some pics when you get a chance.

If I get one decent picture I'll be happy!!! As it stands at the moment I know absolutely nothing about shutter speeds and apertures so the learning curve is going to be quite steep!
