Greetings PF community. Looking forward to learning and sharing what I can to help others in this craft.
My primary profession is graphic arts color management, with emphasis on proofing. My firm sells a scanner to the cultural heritage markets (libraries, musuems, art galleries.) We think the technology lends itself to shooting products that are best described as surfaces (flooring, wall coverings, cabinet faces, counters, textiles and any other kind of flat surface.)
I figure I'd better learn about the photography best-practices being used to capture the surfaces I mentioned to best understand how to capture surface images most accurately, and to serve our customers (when we get them.) As I learn more, I'll share what I/we learn too along the way.
