All Taken over the weekend in Jackson, KY.

Direct flash snapshots, the 2nd is out of focus.

I would recommend moving your flash off board and diffusing it. It lets you control your lighting a little more.

It is diffused, but I didnt bring my second flash with me. I have the D40, so I cant use my 600 offboard without using my 800 as the master.

You can all you need is a couple of cheap cactus triggers from ebay. They cost about as much as a sync cable and will open you to a world of new opportunities.

Switch's facial expression in his avatar says it all really.

The other option is to setup a small reflector. Aluminium foil and cardboard work very well on a tight budget. Set it off to the side of the camera and fire your flash into it with the zoom set as narrow as it will go. The flash is still on camera but the light will be diffused and come at the model from an angle.

Thanks for the advice!

I'll look into the triggers right now!
