Hi All,

I am totally new to DSLR and to photography itself.

With no experience at all, I tried to take on the challenge of shooting a wedding few weeks back...

Hi and welcome to the forum. I find it very brave to start photography by shooting a wedding!!! I hope the bride and groom liked your shots. The 2 shots you posted do not work for me for 3 main reasons:

1 - They are underexposed
2 - They are too soft
3 - The white balance is off (I expect a white wedding dress to be white!).

Hi Steph

Thanks for your post.

Those two shots I used the Orton effect on the image - the original image is not that soft ( I hope hehehe )

The bride/groom actually liked the photos (especially it was free!) hehehe

The soft focus and blurring are all a matter of opinion. As far as the actual shots are, you have a good eye. Ill go check out the rest in a sec. Try posting these over in the Portrait and Wedding Photography forum, you will get a lot more responses!!
