I recently decided that i would like to get into photography after i saw some of the pictures my girlfriend has taken. My stepmother was into it for a while but doesn't have the time for it anymore, so she gave me one of her old cameras and i would like to know if it is a good camera or not.

    It's a Mamiya ZE-2 with an Osawa MC 1:3.5-4.5 35-70mm lense

If the camera is functional, yes. It will take fine photos.

Get some good books that focus on the nuts and bolts of photography. Learn about apertures and shutter speeds. Learn about focal lengths and filters. Learn about the Zone System and the Exposure Value Index. Bryan Peterson's Understanding Exposure and Ansel Adams' The Negative are the first two I would get down. Have fun and don't be shy with your questions. That's what we're here for.
