new to photography

i am using a minolta 450 si 35mm with a sigma 28-300 lense 1:3.5-6.3

thanks so much for all the info on thirds i am going to start reading these sites tonight after supper .

motcon what is lacking/added to the pics and is it possible it is my scanner the 4x6 prints are alot sharper.
