New to Site New to photography

As the title says, I'm new to both. I have had an intrest in photography at least a year now, I'm even considering going to college for it. Right now I have my first job, retail, which I hate and rather, at worst, waste two or so years for photography then stick to a job that's horriable.
I prefer digital to film since I know more about computers then cemistry. This is one of my many "art" intrests. I like writing, drawing, and singing too (singing since about first grade). I joined Devintart but when I ask for help there I either get no help or get little. So I figured I'd join a fourm baised around the subject hoping I'd get better feed back not just "nice" comments, although I'd love them too (who doesn't like to know someone likes what they've done). Before I make this a story I'm gonna end my post so I welcome your responces.
