Newbie 2 pics for C & C

Hi,
I'm trying to learn photography , trying out few things with exposure and composition (btw, composition is not my cup of tea) please let me know what is wrong with these pics. comments are most welcome. Thanks.

(I think pic 2 is bit crooked )

#1. 1/100S , F 3.5 , ISO -100

# 2. 1/40S , F 5.0 , ISO -100

They both look very underexposed. For still life, use a tripod so you can increase your shutter. Also, ISO 100 is a bit low for these types of photos.

If you do not like the composition, why take the photo?
