Newbie looking for opinion (NOT WORK SAFE)

Hi everyone!

I am sort of new to this. My company sells luxury Swiss watches on line. I started working on new ways to advertise my Swiss watches and the response has been phenomenal, but I still feel like I could improve quite a bit. Here's a couple of pics we took, any critique is welcome. KEEP IN MIND: we don't have a studio or professional lights, although that is in the plans. Thanks everyone!

They're a little flat for my taste, Mosco.
I would go for much more dramatic, a bit softened lighting from the side, with dark, but not black, shadows. And a tiny spotlight on the watch (light source with long snoot), as if were lit by a ray of sun, or some light from an adjacent room spilling through an ajar door.

Remember: the watch is the hero in these pictures! Not your fiancee (although I can easily understand you getting confused... ;–P )

I think you got something good going, but I would stick to black / white or duotone, looks classy(expensive) And artistic.

Nice ideas from you guys

The model positions are nice, and the sheets etc looks good too. Some of the faces are not really in focus it looks like. Without the face it also leaves a lot up to the customers imagination.

The angles on the woman are very nice and flattering, which is not easy to shoot.

Be carefull that it doesnt get too tits and ass, the watches should be the seller. Nice watches btw Maybe you should try and get some hi class situations, toxidos, casinos, pilots, sailors etc, someone that would actually wear the watch, in the shot.

Made a cropped version in tritone

What about a close up shot of the watch laying across her belly? I would suggest an unpierced navel, but midsections are damned sexy.

Skin would fill the whole frame without being overtly titilating and the only other object within the frame would be the watch. Nothing else there to distract.

Hmmm... You know, I think I like the belly button piercing, especially the chandellier style. It's just me, though.

I suggested the shot to be sans navel garnishments so it wouldn't distract from the watch.

I know, that's what I meant... I think I like the piercing in the shot and I don't feel like it is taking away too terribly much. I could be wrong, again, i am a noob.

The idea of removing the piercing is so the only object in the frame other than skin ;) is the watch, no other jewelry. couldn't hurt to try?

I didn't read the whole post but my suggestion is only show a portion of the model as per the last couple of crops posted in the thread. It shows the watch is the focus of attention, as soon as you see too much model or her face it looks like she is what we are supposed to be looking at.

Some good advice on here so I'm sure you'll crack it in no time at all :)

If I were asking for information, I would listen to all those who had something to say, then I would redo what had done keeping it all in mind. But in the end I would do my own thing.

Agreed. That's the best way to learn! Gather all the info you need and make it your own!
