Hello all i recently became interested in photography and went out and purchased a pentax kx after reading some reviews and how it compared to others near its price range.

So here are 4 photos to C&C.

I think all these were taken with the kit lens not sure about the last 2 because i did take some older Pentax lenses i found in the garage.

1) The diaper shot is hysterical.

2) I like the composition, but I wish the top of the head wasn't chopped off. I also think it would be nicer to see a face in this shot. I can't be sure the baby is sleeping, and it would have more impact on me if I could see closed eyes.

3) The darker tree trunk cutting through the main tree is distracting. There's nothing exciting about this shot.

4) Very nice. I love the color in the water. I just wish I could see the entire reflection of the goose.

Aside from #3 these are all interesting photos, I just want more! Try to shoot a little wider in the future, you can always crop later.

Actually, looking again, #2 & #4 are cropped, arent they? Bring back the heads of the baby and goose (in the reflection).

Yes they are both of them. Hmm i didn't take the reflection into consideration i guess my novice eyes were just focusing on getting the subject.

Your advice definitely helps and yeah these are less cropped and look much better.
