24-70 is the king of standard lens and the best partner of 70-200. Loves mine, but the main weakness is only the lack of VR element, and maybe the price...

I haven't used the 24-120 in forever, I'm thinking more like 24, 35, and 50's that all start at f/1.4

yes.. those are definitely nice! I still prefer a zoom for some things... but the primes can't be beat....

Love my 24-70. It is on my D90 70-75% of time. The other 27% or so 70-200 vr11. Last but not least 11-16 tokina 3% of time.

EXACTLY. I don't know why that is but it's totally 100% true. It's a fact finder. It captures the moment with crisp clarity but there's not the depth and character that the 70-200 gives.

Trinity Lenses.. lol! Yea.. so I have heard. One of these days.. I will probably breakdown and get the 70-200 2.8 also.... but not right now! I have the 10-24 DX for my 7000.. so probably wont go to the 14-24. Don't shoot the ultra-wides that much.

I love mine! For my DX setup, it is the perfect people shooter! I am sure you will end up with the 70 - 200 V2 soon enough. It is a must have. Also, check out the 17 - 55 f2.8! It is wounderful for DX!!!

Hmm had to choose between the 14-24 f2.8 or the 24-70 f2.8. I'm starting to think I should of gone with 24-70f2.8.
