Nikon 200-400 f/4 VR II introduced

Holy crap I wish Canon made a lens like this! $7,000 is a pretty hefty price tag for it though...

Then again, it's about the same price as a our 400/2.8...

Thanks, I'm trying to decide on a lens and body upgrade for wildlife photography and this discussion of the Nikon 200-400 (VR vs. VRII) was very helpful. I'm tending toward D300s for body; any thoughts? It appears there is no D400 in coming this year...
The D300s was only launched 9 months ago, so no surprise it will be awhile before they launch a D400.

The very new Nikon TC-20E-III Aspherical is the first ashperical lens element telephoto converter Nikon has ever made, an Hogan reports that the 200-400 VR is superb to very nearly superb when shot wide-open with this new 2x converter--and better than with the proven TC14e-II with the lens topped down one f/stop...which is unheard of performance up until now.

The new TC-20E-III Aspherical converter is probably the Nikon accessory that many people are going to be raving about...
