Nikon Coolpix S6800 flash control problem

I got this Nikon Coolpix S6800 at Costco awhile ago. It works well.

Couple weeks ago, the flash control does not work. The flash is set to OFF.
The round control wheel, top 12 o'clock, is flash control. When I push it, no response.

The round control wheel does work. When I use the control wheel to view pictures in the flash drive. It works.

Is there any method to at the flash control working again? Thank you.
(Tried install the firmware version 1.1 again, same problem).
