nikon d3000 vs canon rebel xs

Im looking into buying my first dslr camera.Im looking at spending 500 to 600 ish. Both of these are highly rated. any input would be great

You shoot professional with a D3000?

I think the best choice is to go with Nikon D3000 its really a good one for beginners has a nice guide mode and also much easy to understand the only drawback is it doesn't have a liveview and body don't autofocus so you always need a lens with autofocus.
