nikon d40... should i get it?

all this talk of sensor types got me thinking and researching. I found this image showing different sensor setups. Tell me what you think about this diagram.

I second that question..

I am looking for a present for me second half, and on the fence between d40, d40x and d80..

Don't know what camera am I better of getting for her.

Get her the D80 hands down. You can use any of Nikons AF lenses with it and, it is a better camera by far. I have one as my backup for my D300 still and, use it.
