I am looking to buy a digital SLR and am trying to decide between the D50 and the D70s. At this point in time I am waivering towards the D50 because it is cheaper than the D70s. According to a review I read on dpreview.com the D50 does not appear to be all that inferior to the D70s. What are your takes? Or do you have any advice?

I was quite set on the D70s myself, but after looking around a bit,I now prefer the D50. I noticed that the only thing I would miss from the D70s is the 3 fps as opposed to the D50's 2.5. (which really isn't that big a difference ...) I also dont really like the fact that the D50's LCD data pannel isn't illuminated, but most people can deal with that. But, the D50 has the same (some say better) image quality as the D70s and supposedly has a little less noise at iso 1600. And, a big plus, the D50 is much cheaper.

Personally, I'm going to probally get the D50 because with the lower price, i can spend more on a good lens.

    Regards,
    joe
