Nikon D7000 display

My Nikon D7000's display blinks between black and white. So if there is a white area in the picture, that white area blinks between black and white. I heard there is a way to reset it so it does not do this anymore. Does anyone know? As you can tell from my question, i am a novice photographer.

The blinking is showing you the over-exposed areas. Watch your exposure so you don't get any over-exposed areas.

You can turn this feature on or off in the menus.

Don't even need to use the menu. Push the up arrow on the multi-selector on the back of the camera one time.
