Nikon D80/D60 Question

*without reading all the previous posts*

I have a D80. It is a good camera and can take some very nice photos. ISO over 400 is iffy, past 800 it's useless.

However, if I were to do it again, I would find a D70 methinks.

The thing I consider the D70/D80 has over the D60 is 1) lens selection that AF & meter and 2) Commander mode for wireless off camera flash control. The D70 has a higher flash synch speed.

Yeah, I found that the D80/D200 sensor is useless over ISO 640. Other than that, great camera. You might also look at the D5000 if you can get a body for a decent price (may be hard because its so new). It is basically a D90 shoehorned into a D60 sized body. I assume that includes its excellent high-ISO abilities. Though you still don't get the AF motor, but now that there are some nice AF-S primes, that's less of a concern.
