Hey all,
i have a D50, and i want to buy a lens that can be used both for macro photography, plus to have a good telephoto ability.
And preferably in the 1000 dollars or euros range.

Is there a lens that fit me?

best

Nikon has a 105mm micro and a 200mm model. I can't tell you what prices are in Europe but both lenses perform very well.

Another option to consider if you don't want a dedicted macro would be to get a set of extension tubes. They could be used on all your lenses.

I would still go for a dedicated macro though. I've got the 105mm AF Micro Nikkor and the VR version and they are excellent lenses.

Now that everything is down which one you think gets the votes?

1:6.6 Is not a macro, ignore that lens and pick from the other three. I have the 105mm Micro Nikkor, the AF model and I highly recommend it, although double check the details. There are 2 of these lenses. One is an AF lens and the other is the AF-S lens which is newer and has VR in it. Optically they are very similar, but the AF lens has been discontinued. I mention this because you labelled the lens AF yet the AF-S lens is the one with 62mm filter size, so make sure you know what you're getting.

Tokina 100mm macro and Tamron 90mm macro. Great lenses, well below the $1000 range.
