Nikon wide angle lense advice needed!

    I'm going to Chicago in June and would like to buy me a wide angle VR lense to take along with my D200. Need advice please! Thanks

    there's an 18-55mm VR lens which is basically the 18-55mm DX II kit lens with VR. it's a sharp lens and is pretty wide. and for under $200, it's a STEAL

    also, there is a 16-85mm VR but I don't know much about it other than it costs a few hundred $$ more than the lens above

    you won't find very many wide angle VR lenses....VR is normally reserved for zooms

    You don't need VR with a 10mm or 12mm lens.

    Look at the Sigma 10-20 and Nikon 12-24. Those are the only two wide angle zooms i'd consider myself.

    I use the Sigma 10-20 as well on my D200. It's a great little lens! It is around $500 though.

    And VR on a wide angle??? Why would you need that?
