Nikon Zoom Telephoto 80-200 f/2.8 ED lens HELP!!!

I am wanting to buy either the Nikon zoom telephoto 80-200 ed lens or the nikon zoom telephoto af vr 70-200 lens. I will be using it for weddings and sports photography. I already have a 24-120 nikkor vr lens. Is it worth the extra $700 for the VR lens???

If you do sports and weddings, than go with the 70-200 if you can fit it in your budget. It's an amazing peice of equipment. If you can't afford it, than get the 80-200. I use it for sports and it's superb. It will bring similar results to the 70-200 with the VR off.
