I know a little noisy, I didn't do much PP on them. Just wanted to see how they come out w/out any touch. C&C Welcome!

    He's not hissing, just yawning

I like the expression on his face in #1, but I wonder if it could be cropped in closer to make the focus on the cat? Right now it seems like there are too many bushes and other things vying for attention.

I agree. Although you did an excellent job of focusing on this first shot, the cat could stand out more with a crop.

I think the 2nd shot is my favorite! Great job.

The last shot should probably be cropped too, there is a lot of empty space in this photo. I suggest a vertical crop or a square crop.

Edit: I'm curious, what settings were you using in these shots? For some reason I can't figure out how to get exif data.

BekahAura, not sure but it could be because I shot them in RAW then saved them into JPEG so I could post them here.

    Here are the settings: 1= 1/60 f5 with 200 ISO @ 160mm | 2= 1/30 f5 800 ISO @ 160mm | 3= 1/100 f5.6 800 ISO @ 255mm

Here are the edited as stated above. These might be better? (BTW the lower rose looks like it has some burned petals, they are actually like that, not due to PP or anything)

I like the second one the best! The soft color of the background enhances the peacfullness of the cat. Love how he's perched on the stone.

I like the flowers being in frame, but I don't. They add a bit more complexity to what I think is a nice and simple shot.

I really like the cropped shot of the flowers. Selective coloring may be nice for that one as well... Just my opinion tho :)

As much as I love his facial expression in the first shot (I can't look at it without laughing!), the picture is out of focus and that's a big problem.

The second photo of the cat is much better than the first, but could stand to be sharper (don't know what lens you're using. I hope you're able to get a sharper photo than that). Plus that flower stem needs to go.

Third shot if flowers. That's all I have to say about it.

White balance on the rose shot is a bit on the cool side.

    The crops are better pics.
