Digital noise is pretty much the same across the photo, especially areas of the same tone.

I would actually say that film grain is more uniform in the sense that it appears throughout the whole image, in both highlight and shadow. High ISO noise is more prevalent in the shadows or underexposed areas of the image, and less so on properly exposed areas.
