but I thought these came out ok.

The are straight out of camera, my Photoshop trial ran out, and I have not gone to best buy to buy a serial code....

    #1
The one apparent subject is out of focus and the other subject has partial focus

    #2
This one I like. Its surreal-like...thanks for sharing this with us

    #3
Pretty cool except the OOF flower on the left, cut leaf bottom-left, cut petal bottom-right, almost whole flower cut off top left.

But those are just the things I see that distract me a tad.

I really like the colors and they way they contrast with each other...

Looking forward to seeing more photos from you...

It's a matter of preference but in #2 I would prefer the foreground flowers in focus rather than the background ones.

I liked seeing #2, but the "payoff" is the in-focus band of flowers seen against the branches silhouetted by the sky behind...and the payoff is rather small. But I do think you did a great job of positioning that band of in-focus flowers behind a large bunch of out of focus foreground objects. Like life, this shot brings us a small payoff, a small smile, a gentle touch of appreciation--not that I just won the Lottery! type of feeling. And really, this is what most of the good things in life are like--small pleasures.

Derrel put it pretty well in terms of a metaphor. The second one had a sort of dreamy feel to it and I don't kind a brighten for a moment.
