A bit more PP than I normally do...not sure if there is too much going on here? Too distracting?

Well, apart from the fact that I have always found it incredibly difficult to photograph planes in a hangar during a show, I think you sdid will with your pp work here, desaturating the photo as you did, only staying with the reds - or so it seems.
But a photo of the kind will always remain busy, I think. The place as such is usually busy. (Not with people, necessarily, though that may happen, too!, but with planes around).
