October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month

For those that don't know, October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month.

Being a child, watching my mother get physically and emotionally abused on a regular basis, this is a subject that strikes very close to home. I will also be celebrating 6 years in November as a children's advocate at a local domestic violence shelter.

And, since the key to violence prevention and victim empowerment is education, I thought I would share some links and information.

Sorry, haven't seen it earlier. I've experienced the same thing as you growing up and I've made a promise to myself to never be like that.
