Off camera flash rookie + new PP style

Me and a friend of mine were shooting his car by the lake and figured he could be of some use and "model" for me. He is a really large guy and hates getting his pictures taken.

This is also my FIRST TIME WITH OFF CAMERA FLASH :D And I think I love it! Please let me know what you think. If you see anything at all please tell me.

Is the flash actually off-camera or just not built-in? That is, was it sitting in the hot-shoe or did you actually have a long PC cable or wireless trigger?
 
thats a very common reaction when someone uses off cam lighting for the first time..."i think i LOVE IT!" lol. i was the exact same way...all i could think was "wow, look at what moving the flash did"

the shots look great.

The first thing I learned when I was able to get the flash off the camera is that the direction of light is more important than its quality.
