I am looking for suggestions for some older wide angle prime lenses for my Nikon D5100. I would like to keep it under $100. Any suggestions? Manual focus and aperture is fine

28 & 35mm Series E.

Anything a little wider?

That's the problem, the older lenses were for film, so 28mm was wide and popular as was the 35mm. They are what you can find cheap. A 24mm or 20mm is probably at least twice your budget. The 18mm on a kit lens on the D5100 is about like the field of view of the 28mm, so most the time it is better to just use a kit lens for something cheap on the wide end.

10-17mm lenses are a relatively new phenomenon. And as another poster stated, older 18-23mm lenses used to be specialist lenses and are fairly expensive. Wide angle for aps-c is one area where you can't really save much money by buying older lenses.

The NAI 24/2.8 wasn't half bad. Cheap in beater condition.

Your 18-55 kit lens is a good option, optically its probably better than some of the older glass out there.

For $100, take a look at the 100 2.8 Series E if you want to have some fun with older glass. But just be aware its fully manual and wont meter (I don't think) on your D5100.
