Old style photos

I prefer going into LAB mode and deleting the "A" and "B" channels leaving the lightness information rather than "desaturation". Each method of going to B&W will behave a bit differently, so it all depends on what you like.

I don't usually print in color, but I love "duotone" for experimenting with near-monochromatic color prints. The ink/paper combo I usually use gives a slightly warm B&W tone, but not as much as true sepia toning does.
