It was snowing and I caught Olof standing in the doorway of an old timber framed house

Very nice. Have you considered a more traditional portrait (vertical) crop? Perhaps with the subject looking into the asymmetric darkness on the right side of the picture?

Can you give us the tech details on this: camera, lens, setting, use of flash, etc?

Thanks for sharing this pic with us.

Thanks, I did consider it but I felt that it lacked something.

Camera: Nikon D300
Lens: Nikkor 18-200mm 3,5-5,6
Shutter speed: 1/200
Focal length: 200
F-Stop: 5,6
ISO: 640

Must be tired. I knew there was something that bothered me but I couldn't figure it out. :grumpy:

Olof is looking in the wrong direction. Either that or the negative space should be on the other side.

I hope you don't mind this cropping attempt (at 5x4 ratio):

The photo makes me think it is a reference to Olof Skötkonung, son of Eric the Victorious and Sigrid the Haughty. Viking times.
