on a begginer flash

I dunno I bought a Yonguno YN-460 yesterday at it's great!....;)

Just kidding. I've had mine over a year as the bargin basement flash option. It's a manual flash only but it is useable in set up situations when you can take a few photos to dial in your exposure and if you don't need much power. In dynamic situations you'll be better of with TTL. TBH I wouldn't have any reservations about buying Yonguno products again, I own a couple and have never had an issue except when I forgot to attach my cable to the remote release, DOH!

I'd reccomend reading Strobist 101 (google it) as it helped give me an idea on what I was looking for when I had no clue.

If you don't shoot flashes very much and only use for occasions, then very cheap brands may be best fit for you. If you shoot regularly, and you are a beginner, then get the brand that has a warranty. Still cheaper than Nikon, but you pay a little more than a very cheap brand. I would go for the one that has a warranty.
