Can others edit my Photos
Photos NOT OK to edit
So I was working on a picture of a wheat field in PS, when I thought, "You know what, lets see how this looks as my wallpaper." So I opened the image in Windows Picture and Fax Viewer, set as wallpaper, minimized, and WHAT?

This is probably a stupidly simple question, but the answer eludes me. Why would the image look different when set as wallpaper than it does in either Photoshop or Window's very own picture viewer?

Here's the example :

Colour Space!

Windows picture and fax viewer understands embedded ICC profiles. The windows desktop does not.

Yet another reason not to use anything other than sRGB unless you fully understand colour management.

In photoshop click edit-> convert to profile and convert to sRGB. You won't see a difference because you can't display a wider gamut than sRGB.

Awesome thanks! I don't fully understand all of what you just said, but just enough :p
