I recently got a light stand and a 33" white shoot through umbrella I havent had much time to use it, but I was free tonight, and my nephew was the only non-stuffed thing willing to be photographed

I think I would have chosen a more subtle blanket! That one's pretty hard on the eyes. Technically, not bad. I'd have to tried to avoid cropping the toes on his left foot, and perhaps the use of a reflector image left might have helped to even out the exposure a little bit.

I tried to convince my sister of a black or white background, but she insisted on this blanket and the photo was for her and of her kid, so I did it her way.

Well I kinda had to crop the toes just a little bit because what was behind the blanket was showing and I couldnt clone that pattern =\

I did remove a birthmark on his head, I think I did a good job on that, nobody said anything

I agree with above posts... a more subtle blanket might help and avoid clipping his toes off...
