Opening RAW - CS

Hey Gang
Sorry bout the newb question, but this is my first camera with raw...
Ive got photoshop CS. When I try to open the .dng files I took, its a no go.
Tried to download the updated dmg file from adobe, but mounting failed...
Now what? I was really looking forward to trying out all the benefits of shooting in Raw!

Well it looks like the updates dont work, so im trying to get the dng converter working. An extra step, but cheaper than the upgrade!

Well I got the converter, but it seems to convert the .dng files back into the same .dng files that I still cant open!
Still no raw.... What else can I do here?

Why do you have .dng files? What camera are you using? Most cameras that I know of have a proprietary raw format. You need the latest version of the Camera Raw Plugin to open raw files. You can just drag them into photoshop, once you have the correct plugin installed.
