I took a few shots of a buddy of mine scaling this rock at the top of a local mountain. I ended up liking this version the best, with the outstretched grip, long shadow balancing the highlights, and the 5 sets of mountain "layers" in the background, showing it's vastness (and fading away). While the climber pops out as the main subject, his scale in comparison to the rest of the scene was important as I was trying to make it seem as though he was minuscule (and crazy/high).
For post, I edited this in multiple layers. The following had their own layers: climber, rock he is on, green portion of the mountain we are on, then the next set of darker mountains, and lastly the furthest mountain peaks and sky.
I ran them through Topaz Adjust 4 with custom settings, then played a bit with the hue and saturation (pulled yellow back, toned the green, played with orange).
Opinions welcome
