Did you use a tripod?

It is a real nice lens but I guess it was a little too dark for it. But I like to DOF. A slower shutter speed might have helped.

white balance is a little on the cool side, adjust that and watch those flowers pop!

Thanks for the comments! I was kinda liking the purple hues in contrast to the orange of the flowers, but I'll give a shot at some PP on the raw file tomorrow to see what I get. These are slightly cropped, resized for upload, and sharpened jpegs from the camera. I shot fine + raw. It was pretty dark and I only had a monopod with me which I did use.
