East Central MO is famous for it's limestone caves of Tom Sawyer fame (which I stay out of). Here's what the surrounding forest looks like. There's a cave entrance about 50 yards to the right.

My wife says I didn't push this one over the top. :)

I want to see the inside of the cave.

There are literally thousands of them in the region and you can come visit anytime. I'll be happy to escort you to the entrance but that's as far as I go.

In the meantime, here's a link for you: caves

Yea, like the color.

Nice shot. Is that an owl by that second large tree from the right...about halfway up, or is that just the top of the tree next to it? About two inches down from top of photo.

Hey who what now forest?

;)

Nice image.

Thanks -- the exposed rock is 450-500 million years old, predominately limestone and chert. Large limestone deposits plus plenty of water = caves.

I'm forwarding the link to my daughter. She lives in St. Louis. Thanks Joe.

I see what you mean but I don't think so. It is an Audubon designated important bird area well-known for raptors.

Here's 100% view:

Yeah, I guess its just a lump of bark on the larger tree. Its marked right though and the top has that little tuft like point on the right ...guess we'll never know for sure - unless you were to go back. :)
