Overture Center, Madison

Last week, I spent a few days photographing 7 architectural sites in Wisconsin. The first stop was the Wisconsin State Capitol. Next up was the Overture Center for the Arts in Madison.

My main interest in visiting the Overture Center was to capture pictures of the contemporary Overture Hall. I didn't realize that the Center also housed the Capitol Theater (opened in 1928).

Here are a few of my favorites from stop #2:

For most of these, I captured an additional underexposed shot so that I could later blend it in to better control the highlights (especially the chandeliers). I blended them in using a luminosity mask.
