Panasonic or Fuji

It apperas my budget for a D50 wont come round along time so im reduce to 2 options.
Fuji FinePix S9500 with £512mb card £290
or
Panasonic DMC-FZ7BB £213.95

Im sort of floating towards the Fuji beacuse that seem the nearest thing to the D50.
But if theres anything around £300 can someone suggest?

Why not look at the D40, it might be what you need.

but watch out, it's only compatible with AF-S/I lenses.

It's compatible with all of the Nikon AF lenses, but will only autofocus with AF-S or AF-I lenses. The other lenses still work on the camera, they simply need to be manually focused. Not necessarily a terrible thing, IMPO. Autofocus is far from perfect. Coming from a background of fully manual cameras, I think we sometimes tend to rely too much on automation.
