pano landscapes from 4x5

These were both taken with my Anniversary Graphic w/ 150mm convertable Schneider. The film is Tmax 100. These are 2x5 crops from the 4x5 neg. The scans are from 4"x10" prints on Ilford glossy FB. Beneath each full photo is a detail slightly larger than one square inch from the center of the original 300 dpi scan.

Don't you hate it when someone already said exactly what you wanted to say. Number 3 - wish I took it. BTW - love the clarity, detail, resolution in the blow ups... whatever the appropriate term would be - its impressive.

#3 is my favorite too ... what were your specifics on that one?

I prefer to think of these as #1 and #2, and then detail of #1 and detail of #2. It was just killing me to reduce these down to 72 dpi, and I wanted to give a clue to the detail available in the original prints.

#2 (the foggy shot) is a location about 35 min from my house (20 min drive and 15 min hike) that I frequented even before I was into photography. It's at a man-made resevoir. That's why the trees are in the water. Kansas has many large resevoirs built for water management. This particular location has two coves that tend to be fog generators. Even on clear mornings there will be fog here, and on foggy morns it is way foggy here. I originally shot this as a full frame shot, but the excessive white of the sky, and lack of interest in the foreground led my to crop it into a pano. The sun rises over the dark projection of land in the background of the pic. It's still behind when this photo was taken. the aperture is probably f/32 or f/45, and the exposure time was between 2 and 4 seconds.
