I took this when he was a day old. He was two weeks premature, which when it happens, the foal rarely survives. While his mom was 9 months pregnant with him (horse gestation is 11 months) she suffered from a severe bout of pnemonia where we were told to abort the foal to give his mother more of a chance of surviving. We kept him and his mother, and both are doing very well, and he is now a healthy and lively 3 month old.

I like the moment you caught, he looks curious about something. I would've had a shallower DOF.
