pentax warrenty question

    The flash on my k100d quit last night nite. I tried all the normal procedures such as resetting the camera and replacing the batteries. The camera will not focus or anything when the flash is up, with the flash down, the camera works fine. Do you guys think pentax will warrenty this? the camera is a month and a half old.

    Only a month and a half old? You should have no problem at all. I had a similar problem with a camera a while back and I didn't even need to contact the manufacturer because the retailer simply replaced it for me. No offence intended but why not just contact Pentax or the retailer?

    just tryin to feel out what kind of manufacturer pentax is. I et ahold of them this evening. I need to use the camera for a ski shoot this afternoon.

    i sent the camera in last week, it arrived on wednesday. called this morning and its still not in the "system yet". They estimate that they are a week and a half behind on gettin stuff "in the system". After it gets "in the system", figure 20 days to get it repaired and then shipped back. To say I'm less than enthused is an understatement.:er:

    pentax still has no record of my camera. I'm now starting to get concerned.

    Presumably you used a recorded method of post and have proof of having sent it; email them a copy and also let them know that you're not happy.

    P.s. did you try contacting the retailer first?

    I've had similar experiences w/ getting stuff repaired from Pentax. They're infamously slow w/ this stuff (at least according to my retailer), but it will eventually come back.
