They're both nice shots and the first one would have been good with or without HDR. The second--which, as I said, I like--maybe not

Hi Alex,

Welcome to the site - pretty new here myself...I think you've done a great job of the first birthday party hdr. I'm no expert in photography with less than half a years experience under my belt and i'm completely fresh to hdr but it looks great to me.

The second I'm not too hot on. Nice tone mapping in the first plus the occasion gives it a really nice mood.

Completed my first hdr tonight - think I'm happy with it. Ive got it up on my flickr for now anyway if you want to drop by for a look..

These are great tone mapped images, especially the second one... but as mentioned they aren't "HDR".

Still great stuff.
