    Hi all,

I read somewhere that some people put a UV haze filter on their lens and leave it there for all shots. Since I'm not too clear what this would do, I don't know how good or bad an idea it is.

Does anyone do anything like this?

It would just protect the lens from fingerprints, dirt, slight bumping, etc.

Just be aware that it may cause image problems and remove it when shooting difficult subjects. (high contrast, bright lights or reflections)

Protection for the front element as reg said. Either a UV or just a plain coated glass one.
