    I enjoy it because of it's simplicity. Nice contrast too. :D

    For me, I'd prefer to see the exposure upped around 1/2 to 2/3 of a stop. As it stands there's not enough of a smooth gradation in the tones across the back of the mortar. Nice composition and DoF though. Maybe a few peppercorns strewn across the counter might have added a little more interest too.

    I like it too. I think the darkness of the image is a nice touch. It keeps it somehow alouf.
