I like the composition and shot in general. I personally would prefer to see the nose in focus as well, so just a bit more DOF.

Not sure if it's a little on the hot side in the whites on the dogs forehead. I'm on a calibrated netbook, but still never sure how accurate things are represented.

Nice! :thumbup: I think that the shallow depth of field worked well here. Sharp focus on the eyes and perfect candidate for black and white. Lighting is great as well. Was the light coming from a window?

I agree with the first comment - a litte more DOF and i think it would be a wonderful picture.
