I am still getting use to this new flash... but what do you think?
He's a pretty cute little guy. Reminds me how much I want a kid. Anyway, the flash in the first one worked out fairly ok and in the second one, it's not even noticeable, which is ideal. The harsh shadow under his jaw in the third one kind of bugs me though. Personally, when I use flash, I always bounce it. My rule is: if you can't bounce (or at least heavily diffuse) the light before it hits your subject, don't use a flash at all.
Can your flash head swivel? Or can you get it off of the camera? If so, try bumping up the power and pointing it at a wall behind you or a ceiling above you. You'd be surprised what it can do to the light.
This is the kind of effect you get if you do that:
This was in an extremely low-lit room with Christmas lights and a few dim lamps as the only light. But one bounced flash on the roof/wall behind me and voila!
awww thanks. he's is definitely the joy of my life. Thanks for the advice, If I can get him still again, I will try it
hahaha, the 3rd pic made me chuckle at work.:lmao:
he was decorating cookies... yea more like he was eating ALL of the icing! lol!
Just out of curiosity, which flash are you using?
