Can anyone tell me how to fix the background shadow and straighten the window frame in PS CS2?

select all/edit/free transform/select any tool/apply FT/crop to size/levels adjust.
did it but the pic you posted was small so not worth the effort, I imagine its the moggy reflection that is the image you want though so why keep all that clutter of wall/frame/etc, just photograph the cat
