Photobucket was always the worst host for over ten years now. They just wanted to solidify it.
Photobucket must be on their deathbed=Desperation. No one will pay that kind of fee, especially people using a "free" service.
Make me wonder about an opensorce image hosting software on a private host.
Lol. Think about the size of their servers, youre not going to pay for that, silly.
Even Google charges after 15gb.
I have a half dozen web hosting accts, I usually get 60gb for around $7. a mo. As for storage of photos I would look at cheaper storage plans AWS possibly.
I don't mind paying for my storage, usage and bandwidth. Pay for services is not silly.
photobucket was/is literally 2% of the internet's traffic and it wasn't making them money.
I don't know of any photo hosting sites that are making money. It is a poor business model-Collect people who do not want to pay for something then try to charge them.
Personally I don't mind paying for stuff, Not $40. a mo for photohosting. That's a unrealistic price.
I would pay $40 a year to host all of my own photos and some space for friends. They would be on my rented server space and not under anyone elses TOS.
