Photos cropped when printing

I desperately need help with this!! I have a Canon PowerShot SX10IS, and the photos are always cropped when I try to make prints. I realize that I have to crop them to like a 4x6 before I print them, but how can I do that without losing part of the image? This is driving me insane!!!

your camera has 4:3 aspect ratio (1.333). 4x6 is 1.5. IF you dont want it cropped, you will have .33 inches of white space on each side of your photo.

Is there any way to change the ratio so that the pictures are already in the proper ratio to make prints?

Did you read your camera's manual? If you can change the aspect ratio, it will be in there.

If you can't change the ratio, it's not really a big deal, once you know about it. For example, if you know that to get a 4x6 print, you will loose a bit off the sides, then just take your shots so that you have extra room on the sides.
